The idea of opening a sober living business came to Marc and Antoinette Archambeau, the owners of Rising Sun Sober Living, after traveling to Florida in 2007 to celebrate their nephews first year of sobriety. He was living in a sober living house that was recommended by his inpatient treatment provider. Their nephew invited them to attend his AA home group meeting where he would receive his one year sobriety chip. After the meeting, they met his new friends from the sober living program and made a plan to take them to lunch. Through all the laughter, it was obvious the love, support, and camaraderie these young men were experiencing was helping them maintain their sobriety. Marc and Antoinette realized the many benefits of a sober living program. Most importantly, the new friendships prevented loneliness and boredom keeping them from returning to past, unhealthy friendships and behaviors. One year after returning from Florida, Rising Sun opened the first location in Boise, Idaho. Today, Rising Sun Sober Living has many locations throughout the State, offering housing to men and women seeking a better way of life.
